1. Introduction

Nikah For All (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates an Islamic matrimonial platform designed to help adults seek marriage with clarity, dignity, and respect for privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to this policy.

The platform is operated for users in Sri Lanka, and we handle personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022 of Sri Lanka (the “PDPA”).

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide and data generated through your use of the platform:

  • Account details: name, email address, and authentication credentials.
  • Profile information: demographics, religious and lifestyle preferences, education, occupation, location (Sri Lanka districts and cities), and other fields you choose to submit.
  • Verification data: information submitted for membership review and documents or notes our team may request to confirm identity and intent.
  • Communications: messages sent through interests, connection requests, and support enquiries.
  • Payment-related data: plan selections, bank transfer references, and promo code redemptions. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Technical data: device type, browser, IP address, and usage logs used for security, fraud prevention, and service improvement.

3. How we use your information

We use personal data to:

  • Provide and operate the matrimonial service, including profile display, search, and interest workflows.
  • Verify membership and maintain a trustworthy community.
  • Process subscriptions and credit packs when billing is enabled.
  • Enforce our Terms & Conditions and protect members from misuse.
  • Send service-related notices (verification status, security alerts, billing confirmations).
  • Improve the platform and comply with applicable law.

4. Profile visibility and privacy controls

Members control how much of their profile is visible through visibility settings (for example public vs interest-first access). Guests and unverified members generally see limited teaser information.

Full profile detail and interest features may require verification and, when enabled, an active membership plan. We apply field-level privacy rules so sensitive information is not shown to users who are not permitted to see it.

5. When we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Other members, according to your visibility settings and platform access rules.
  • Service providers who help us host, secure, email, process payments, or measure usage (including analytics providers such as Google Analytics), under confidentiality obligations.
  • Law enforcement or regulators when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of the platform.

Some of these providers (for example Google) may process technical data on servers located outside Sri Lanka. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data continues to be protected as required by the PDPA.

6. Data retention

We retain account and profile data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution needs.

You may request account deletion subject to verification and any legal obligations we must fulfil.

7. Your rights

As a data subject under Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022, you have the right to be informed about how your personal data is processed, to access your data, to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected, and to request erasure or withdrawal of your consent where the law allows.

You may also object to or ask us to review certain processing of your personal data.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and protect the service. These are required for the site to function.

We also use analytics tools, including Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the platform so we can improve it. These tools set cookies and collect limited technical data such as your device type, browser, IP address, and the pages you view. We use this only for measurement and service improvement, not for third-party advertising.

When you first visit, we show a notice about our use of cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
